Obituary of Gary Robert McVannel
McVANNEL, Gary - Peacefully passed away at home at the age of 73. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, son Marty (Sandy) McVannel, daughters Lee-Ann McVannel, Terry Lynn (Anthony) Marks, brother Doug McVannel and grandchildren Zachary, Joshua, MacKenzie, Emma, Jarae and Tyler. Gary will also be greatly missed by his many family and friends. Gary is predeceased by his parents Earl and Jean, as well as his infant son Michael. Gary was a proud member of the Seafares International Union for 55 years and he was dedicated employee of Algoma Central Marine for over 30 years. Family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME (585 Carlton Street) on Friday May 13th, 2011 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. A Celebration of Gary's life will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 14th, 2011 with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. GO BRUINS!!!
