Obituary of Jacqueline, Carole Cripps

Cripps, Jacqueline Carole Peacefully at home after a long illness on Friday, November 22, 2002 with family at her side. Jacquie has been the loving wife and best friend of 44 years to Mervyn Cripps. Loving mother of David of Toronto (Donna Shelton) and Mark (Cyndy Cripps) of St. Catharines. Also cherished by her four granddaughters, Amanda, Arlee, Emilee and Alyssa Cripps. Daughter of Violet Taggart and the late William Taggart. Survived by her brother James Taggart of Brockville and sister Janet Paprzycki. She was the first dietician at Linhaven Home for the Aged when it opened in its new location on Ontario St. in 1958, left to raise a family and returned to Linhaven as Craft Co-ordinator in 1983 until her retirement in 1995. She had been active in the Girl Guide movement, the National Campers and Hikers Association and was on the Board of Gerontology at Niagara College. She taught crafts at home, at night school courses with the Niagara District Board of Education and at Niagara College. Her special touch will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place, and friends are invited to the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. At Jacquie's request there will be no service and in lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice. Private interment at a later date in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. Sandra E. Hartman, and the staff of the VON and Para Med for their care and compassion.
