SHIELDS, A. Robert (Bob) Peacefully, at home on Tuesday, November 5th, 2002 in his 77th year, after a battle with cancer. Devoted husband of Ruth and dear father of Marsha (Roland) Alber of Brantford, Mark (Pat) Shields of St. Thomas, Gregory of Thorold, Willa (Nick) Owens. Loving grandfather of Michael, Allan, Adam, Jaseth, Ray, Nadia & Bob, and 3 great grandsons & many nieces & nephews & honourary daughter JoAnn. Predeceased by his brothers George & Thomas. Bob served overseas in the Second World War with the Lake Superior (Motor) Regiment; Lifetime member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24 & a member of Memorial United Church. Retired from TRW as a supervisor of the valve line. Bob spent 12 wonderful winters in Zephyrhills, Florida and will be missed by a large circle of friends & neighbours in the park. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Celebration of his life will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 1:00pm. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in the Veteran's Section. If so desired, donations to Hotel Dieu Oncology or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
