Wittig, Wilfred George suddenly at home on Wed. Oct 29, 2003, loving husband for 60 years of Gloria, dear father of Bob & Debbie; Bill & Diane; Sandra and Charlie Wheeler; James, Chris & Alison all of St. Catharines. Loving grandpa of Jason & Petra, Justin and Jamie, Ethan and Melanie, Amy and Josh, Stella, Patrick and Rob, Ashley, William and Connor , Jack and Nicholas, and greatgrandpa of Jason Jr. and Jeff, Sarah, Noah and Meghan. Wilf owned Wittig Electric for 25 years, a member of St. Alfred's Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1394, Msgr. Morris Assembly of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus, veteran of WWII serving with the Royal Canadian Navy, member of the Royal Canadian Naval Assoc., Royal Canadian Legion Merritton Br. #138, was active in the St.Catharines Cribbage League.Wilf is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Saturday at 9a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 9:30 a.m. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Thurs. 7-9 and Fri. 2-4 &7-9p.m. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Fri. at 3 p.m. The family would appreciate donations to Canadian Diabetic Association or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
