Obituary of Conrad John Mettler

METTLER CONRAD JOHN Peacefully, on Monday September 29, 2003 at Niagara Arms, in his 99th year. Beloved husband of Ann (Kretz). Loving father of Mary Mettler CSJ of Toronto, Bob (Dolly) Mettler of Pickering, Margaret (Brian) Ford, Joan Sim and Jim Mettler all of St. Catharines. Cherished grandfather of Stephen and Colin Sim, Kathryn, Rachel and Sarah Mettler, Sabrina Ford and David and Christine Mettler. Predeceased by his brother Jack of Dorchester and his two sisters Trina and Bertha of Switzerland. Dad will be missed by all members of the Mettler and Kretz families. Dad worked for 22 years at General Motors in St. Catharines, retiring in 1971 and was a member of St. Alfred's Church for almost 50 years. Dad is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 11:00am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:00pm. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrance to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
