Obituary of Alexander Sorko

SORKO ALEXANDER In his 77th year, passed away peacefully, into the presence of God, on Wednesday June 25, 2003, at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Alex was born on August 20, 1925 in Komarno Manitoba. Loving husband of 59 years to Stella. Cherished father of Gary (Nancy), Fred (Dianne) and Phil. He wil be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren Christine, Jerry, Tammy (David), Phil Jr., Dan and 4 great grandchildren Michelle, Rebekka, Tyler and Alexandra. Also survived by 2 brothers Mike and John, 2 sisters Ann and Mary, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and 5 brothers. Mr. Sorko is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., where a service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday at 10:30am. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Church of the Good Shepherd would be appreciated by the family.
