Obituary of Donald Murray Mackenzie

MACKENZIE, Donald (August 2nd, 1922-May 22nd 2011) - With sad hearts the family announce the passing of Don Mackenzie in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Muriel for 57 years. Cherished father of Tim (Joy), Arlene (Gary) Campbell, Rob (Kim), Cathy ( Alain) Rocheleau and Mary Ann ( Mark) Parkinson. Loving grandfather of 9 wonderful grandchildren. Brother in law of Rev. Marjorie Reid and Dr. Robert Reid. Don will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was a Veteran of WW I I serving in the RCAF. He was a retiree of General Motors having worked in the maintenance department. Don was a 77 year member of Welland Avenue United Church who sang in the choir and recently was a member at Silver Spire United Church. Mr. Mackenzie is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Don's Life will take place at Silver Spire United Church, St. Paul Street on Thursday at 11a.m. Burial at Zion Cemetery in Wainfleet to follow. Memorial donations to Silver Spire United Church or The Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
