BIRMINGHAM, Mildred Passed away peacefully, June 8, 2003 at St. Catharines General Hospital in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Birmingham, Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, N.S. Loving mother of Lawrence (Norma) of St. Catharines, Melbourne (Brenda) of Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, N.S. Adored grandmother of Lorinda (Sean) and Blair (Jen) of Ontario, Leanne (Jeff), Patrick (Donna) and Paul of Halifax, N.S. Great-grandmother of Nicole, Michelle, Brandon, Christopher and Katie of Ontario, Kenzie, Regan and Breagh of Halifax, N.S. Sister of James (Jean), Harry (Vivian) and Earl Wolstenholme and Hilda Yovanovich of Ontario, Jessie Bennett and Freda Vickers of Sydney Mines, N.S. Sister-in-law of Lorraine, Alice and Josephine Birmingham of St. Catharines. Predeceased by daughter Yvonne, sisters Muriel, Dorothy, and Helen, brother Harold and brother-in-law James, Andrew and John Birmingham, sisters-in-law Beth (Howard) Cullen, Lillian (Neil) Jamieson and Harriett (Bob) Strong. Millie was a long time member of Sydney Mines Pensioners Club, Carmen United Church, Ladies Auxilliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch 008. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Tuesday from 7-9pm. A funeral service and burial will take place in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
