Dear Ina and Bill:
It is with great sorrow that we share in the loss of your mom. She and your dad were of great inspiration to us when we also moved to St. Catharines in 1975, and everyday would take our shepherd Zitto down to the lake for a swim while living on Bayridge Cove. We would visit with Doug and Beryl in the back of their yard while letting Zitto run at a time when only the Atlanta Hotel stood where the Beachview Residences now stand.
When the lots came up for sale, we were thrilled to become next door neighbours to such beautiful and wonderful people.
We remember the chats across the fence, your mom calling your dad for dinner because he was too busy talking and not coming in when she called him and her impatience when dinner was getting cold.
We remember all the stories he told us about the war.
We remember your mom telling us about her father-in-law stroking a crying Bill's back even though he had passed away 2 months prior, but she believed that there was a hereafter and the power of the spirit world.
We know she is now once again together with her Doug and they will be happy forever and ever and someday we will see them all again, smiling and once again giving us all more advice.
We will all miss her. She was a real treasure and a strong lady who adored her family.
Our deepest sympathy in the loss of this wonderful mom.
