Obituary of John James McKey

McKey, John James Sr.(Jack): Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday May 29, 2011 at his home in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Kathleen McKey (2010) for more than 54 years. Loving father of Dr. Colleen McKey, Janet (Don) Hull, Loretta (Barry) Inamoto, and John (Late Kimberley) McKey. Cherished grandpa of Allison, Brett, Eric, Mallory, Caitlin, Jennifer, and Tyler. John is predeceased by his brother Gordon, and sister Georgina. John served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for more than 5 years and was stationed in Torbay Newfoundland. He owned and operated McKey Music Store, in downtown St. Catharines for more than 35 years, then entered automotive sales before retiring again to spend some time traveling with his family. Mr. McKey is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. Visitations will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday June 2nd, at Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen St. S. in Thorold. The rite of Comittal will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial remembrances can be made to Dreams to Memories Foundation.
