Dziedzina, Sophie Teresa Peacefully at home on Thursday, March 11, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late John. Loving mother to Irene and her husband Edward Jurus of Mississauga and Jim of Oakville. Dearest grandmother (babci) to Jon and Janice, Jerry and Joanne, Joseph and Cairine, Jacqueline Nadeau and Marc, Kyle and Sam Dziedzina. Cherished great grandmother (little babci) to James, Eilidh, Sophie, Michael, David, Katie and baby Brynn. Sophie will be lovingly remembered by her sister Mary and her husband Jacob and their son Mark of St. Catharines and one brother, Walter Dudczak in Poland. Caring aunt to the Pawlik family, Cecilia, Josephine and Roman Jewula, Stella, Geniu and Barbara, Stan and Gerry and all their children. Sophie was a member of the Ladies' Auxilary of the Polish Canadian Legion, Br. 418, where she worked and catered many weddings, banquets and social events from 1972-1988. She will be sadly missed by her wonderful neighbours and many friends in the Polish community. A special thanks to all her caregivers, doctors and nurses whose daily help was instrumental in her care and needs during her illness, especially Dr. Sandra Hartman. Her kindness and compassion are truly appreciated. Sophie is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13 from 7-9 pm. and on Sunday, March 14 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers for Sophie will be held in the chapel on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church on Monday March 15, at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Victoria Lawn cemetery. Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated by the family.
