Obituary of Ernest Molnar

MOLNAR ERNEST (1924 - 2004) At Henley House Senior Residence, St. Catharines, Ernest Molnar passed peacefully away on Monday February 2, 2004 in his 80th year. He was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Poth) in 1999. Mr. Molnar is survived by his son Kevin, daughter in law Rosanna, dear grandchildren Jennifer, Kelly and Nicholas, all of South Porcupine, and his devoted daughter Linda of St. Catharines.Ernest was born at McKim, Sask. April 5, 1924 to the late George and Helen (Bodi) Molnar. He came to Ontario in 1949 and was wed to Margaret of Lowbanks on Feb. 11, 1950. He is survived by his brothers George (Margaret), Frank (Agnes), Robert (Janet), William (Ann), Michael (Joyce) and by his sister Mary, as well as many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Margaret, and by his brothers John (Mary), Henry (Elizabeth), Joseph, Victor, Stephen, Edward, Albert, Theodore and Nicholas as well as by brothers in law and sisters in law. Ernie worked for McKinnons (General Motors) for 39 years, retiring in April 1988. He enjoyed Euchre with the Socialites, playing baseball, fishing and bantering with wonderful neighbors. His family wishes to express their appreciation to Henley House for their compassionate care of our Dad and to Bella Senior Care for their extraordinary love and devotion to him during his first experience with Nursing Homes. Mr. Molnar is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Denis Church at 10am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Hotel Dieu Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
