My Poppop holds a very special place in my heart, he always has. This day was hard for me. This was a 'letting go' day. I let go of a huge part of my childhood, a very special man, one who bought me chips at the Avondale Dairy, when all the other kids had ice-cream. He knew I hated ice-cream. He respected me as a person, even as a 'little person', enough to let me have my chips, as odd as he thought it was. Poppop lovingly always gave in, to what we wanted.
I couldn't be there today, but my mind and thoughts were so much there.
The world has lost a great man in my Poppop, I wish it held more men like him.
To my family - "I mourn with you"
For my Poppop - "Good-bye, my beloved Poppop, your place in my heart is as powerful as always, and it always will be, I love you, rest in peace". 'Shoo-shoo' XO.
