Obituary of Vincenzo Covatta

Covatta, Vincenzo-passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 88. He was a proud resident of Chateau Gardens. Dear son of the late Vincenzo and Antonietta. Beloved husband of Giuseppina, of almost 67years. Devoted and loved "PAPA" of Frank and Angela of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Maria and the late Michele Carluccio of St. Catharines. Dear grandfather and "NONNO" of six grandchildren, Vincent, Joseph and Katherine Covatta and Pina (Daniel) Konieczny, Anna (Felice) Valvano and Pat Carluccio. Dearly beloved "NONNO" of Christaan, Mikella and Isabella. He will be sadly missed by a sister Maria (Domenico) Ricciuto, predeceased by a sister Vincenza and two brothers Giovanni (Maria) Marrone and Giuseppe (Vincenza) Marrone. Loved cousin of Luigi, Maria and the late Frank Covatta of Niagara Falls, New York. He was a wonderfull son-in-law of the late Angelo and Nunzia Gabriele and brother-in-law of the late Giovanni and Vincenza, Marcello and Pasqualina, Igino and Antonietta Gabriele, Teresina and Vincenzo Ricciuto, Giovina and Giuseppe Ricciutto, Maria Nicola and Vincenzo Donatelli and survived by Carmela and the late Vincenzo Foligno. Caring nephew of the late Costanzo and Christina Covatta and the late Filomeno and Giovina Ricciuto. Vincenzo will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. Friday January 23rd between 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home at 3:00pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Church Saturday, January 24 at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Pleasant view Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzhiemers Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
