Obituary of Pauline Lillian Lowe

Lowe, Pauline Lillian (nee Berge) Pauline passed away peacefully on January 7, 2004 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 79 years old. Pauline was predeceased by her loving husband John in September 2003 and parents Magnhild and Paul Berge, brothers Harold and Norman and sister Louise. Left to mourn her passing are her children Susanne (Ken) McGill of Winnipeg, Randy (Lorri Evans) of Peterborough, Darrell of St. Catharines, and Cindy Lowe (Rob Epp) of St. Catharines and grandchildren Shannon and Shawna McGill, Donovan Lowe, Ryan, Cameron and Brandon Green, sister Marie McNulty, brothers Rob and Art Berge and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was born on May 10, 1924 in St. Catharines where she has lived her entire life. Pauline served in the Canadian Womens Army Corp. during the war and then worked at Thompson Products. Pauline married the love of her life John in 1946 and they just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary July 2003. Pauline devoted her life to her husband John and her four children. She loved her home and was a very loving mother and a meticulous homemaker. There was always an open door for the many family and friends who often filled the kitchen and whose company was one of her greatest pleasures . Pauline loved to shop and spent many happy hours bargain hunting with her sister Marie, and going out for lunch. The family would like to thank all the dedicated and loving staff who cared for her so well. To Dr. Hartman a special thanks and to the nurses Jan and Carolyn and to all the wonderful caregivers who have made it possible for Mom to spend her last days in the comfort of her home, especially Laia, Kim, Margaret Jane and Lori and to Cathy from Hospice Niagara. A real special thanks goes to Pauline's sister Marie and nieces Kim and Patty whose love, support and care will always be remembered. Friends may visit the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, January 9 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. A service honouring Pauline's life will take place at the George Darte Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 10 at 12:00 noon. Interment on Monday January 12, 2004 at 11:00 am. at Victoria Lawn Cemetery . Memorial remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
