Obituary of Walter Nicholas Yaremchuk

Yaremchuk Walter Nicholas (The Big Y) after a brief illness on Sunday Dec. 21, 2003 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Walter was in his 68th year and is the loving husband of Jessie. Dearly loved son of the late Mary and Joseph Yaremchuk, dear brother of Anne and the late Stanley Pidwinski of St. Catharines. Dear uncle of Christine and Bohdan Nebesny of Stoney Creek, Nancy and Vlodymyr Skotar of Mississauga and Terry Pidwinski of St. Catharines. Beloved son-in-law of Anna and the late John Kaczmarek of St. Catharines. Dear brother-in-law of Walter and Maureen Kaczmarek of Surrey B.C., Stan and Caroline Kaczmarek of California. Uncle of Cindy, Tricia, Richard, Tracy and Jessica. Great uncle of Adrian, Lesia and Ivanna. Walt worked at General Motors of Canada for 44 years retiring 6 years ago, was a member of the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club since 1973 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Merritton Br. # 138. A Family and Friends Affirmation Ceremony will be celebrated in the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Rite of Committal will be held in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to the Oncology Clinic or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
