On Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Hamilton General Hospital. In his 84th year. Loving husband of Lucie for 25 years. Beloved father of Marilyn Potts, Sheila (Stan) Saibil. Proud Granddad of his grandchildren Allison and Tiffany, and of his great grandson Kavin. Dear brother of Peter of London, England. Mr. Bridgstock is survived by his many family and friends.
Mr. Bridgstock was a member of The Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He was a Private Consultant in the field of Copper and Nickel Smelting and Refining.
Mr. Bridgstock was a veteran of World War II and has served as a Major with the RCEME. He is a graduate of the Imperial College, London, England with a B Sc. in Engineering (1950), and a graduate of Brock University with a B A in Political Science (2001). He was a master gardener. He was a member of the Rotary Club St. Catharines South and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Past president of the St. Catharines Horticultural Society, member of The Torch Club St. Catharines, and The Probus Club. He was Worship Committee Chairman of St. Paul St. United Church.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Paul St. United Church on Tuesday, December 23rd at 1pm. Arrangements entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel. Memorial remembrances to the St. Paul St. United Church would be appreciated by the family.
