TELEGA STEFANIA On Wednesday December 17, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Frank Telega. Dear mother of Mitch of St. Catharines, Mike and Loreen of Niagara on the Lake, Mary and Stan DInga of St. Ann's. Dear grandmother of Elizabeth, Tom, Stacey and Todd, Michael Jr., Adam and Carl. Great grandmother (Babcia) of Tanner and Alexandra. Mrs. Telega was a Veteran of WW11 When war broke out in 1939 she served for the Polish Red Cross. In February 1940 she was deported to Siberia and in 1942 joined General Anders Polish Army in Russia. She then had traveled to Persia, Iraq, and Palestine with the Army Hospital serving as a Polish Army nurse. Mrs. Telega was discharged at the end of the war. Mrs. Telega was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, the Holy Rosary Group, a past member of Canadian Polish Society, Polish Combatants Association (S.P.K.) and a member of the Polish Legion Branch #418 Ladies Auxillary. Mrs. Telega is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Sat at 9:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10:00am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7:15pm. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances to Niagara on the Lake Community Palliative Care or flowers would be appreciated by the family.
