Obituary of John Vinnai

VINNAI, John After a courageous battle, surrounded by his loving family, John passed away peacefully in their loving arms on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in his 76th year. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Irene (nee Kovach). Survived by his adoring son John and daughter Heidi (Russ) Taylor. Cherished Nagypapa to his precious angels: granddaughters Rachel, Meghan and Sarah. Adored brother of Miklos and Margo in Hungary, and many nieces, nephews and friends. John is also survived and will be forever loved by his partner Olga Vizer, her daughters Sybil and Gabe and their families. Born November 14, 1934 in Hungary, he came to Canada in 1957 and was employed by General Motors for 30 years. John was an inspiration to us all. His love of life and dedication to his family and friends was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. John's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, April 25th from 1-4pm. A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place on Monday, April 26th in the funeral home chapel at 11am. Burial to follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Lakeshore Road East, Port Colborne. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
