BANIC, Nikola (Nick) September 10, 1916 †" October 22, 2004 Peacefully at Shaver Hospital, St. Catharines with his loving daughter and son-in-law by his side. Beloved husband of the late Rosalie Banic (2003). Dear dad of Ann and Ralph Pagliuso of Ancaster. Devoted grandpa of Teresa and Michael Timpano of Barrie and Rob and Amy Pagliuso of Ancaster. Proud and loving great grandpa of Dante and Ana Timpano and Benjamin Pagliuso. Former husband of Marianna Banic of St. Catharines. Leaving loved step-daughter Jose Sokolowski of St. Catharines and her children Joan okolowski-McGuire (Mike) of Calgary, John (Cathy) Sokolowski of Mississauga, and Danny (Laurie) Sokolowski of Ottawa. Step great grandchildren Joe and Sam McGuire, Kim, Eddie and Ben Sokolowski. Predeceased by four sisters, one brother, two half-sisters in Croatia, and sister Katharine Markovich, Hamilton. Survived by sister Anka Matich of Welland. He leaves behind brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces in Croatia, Poland, USA and Canada. Nick was retired from Foster Wheeler, St. Catharines. Family and friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines onSunday, October 24, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday October 25, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 8pm. Funeral Liturgy will be on Tuesday, October 26, 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate Street, St. Catharines. Rite of committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
