Potanova, Incoronata - On Monday October 4 2004, in her 88th year, at Versa Care Nursing Home. Beloved wife of Rocco. Loving mother of Gerarda and Tony Carbone of Hamilton, mother in law of Henrietta Portanova. Predeceased by her sons Michael and Mario Portanova. Loving Nonna of Tom (Diana), Corina (Roberto), John (Amanda), Tina (Joe) and great grandmother of Cole, Brent and Mya Faith. Survived by her sister Francesca (Vito)Tota, her sisters in law Joanne Damiano and Angela Gallicchio. Predeceased by her brothers Pasquale, Alessandro and Nicola Damiano, her sisters Angela, Maria, Clara and her brother in law Bartolomeo Gallicchio. Mrs. Portanova will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews family and friends. She was a member of St. Alfred's Church. Mrs. Portanova is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 9am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 9:30am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for the deceased will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:00pm. Memorial remembrances to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
