Obituary of Patrick James English
English Patrick James: C.W.O. (Ret) RCAF. Suddenly after a brief illness,at the St. Catharines General Hospital early Saturday October 2,2004 with his loving family by his side, in his 86th year.Loving husband and best friend of Agnes for 61 years. Dear father of Gordon(Gail) of Fonthill and Cathy(Richard) Whitmore of Queensville. Proud grandfather of Michael, Amy, and David English. Born July 11 1919 at Indian Head ,Saskatchewan, raised on a prairie farm during the tough times of the 20's and 30's , Pat had a 33 year career with the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring in 1974 and later relocating to St. Catharines to be near some of his family. He was an avid HAM radio operator,leather worker , all round handyman and also enjoyed many years at his cottage on Eagle Lake near Kingston. Pat was a long time member of the Air Force Association of Canada,the FSNA and the Air Force Telecom Association . Some of his other interests included bowling and square dancing. Pat will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all those whose lives he touched. He will be resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St. until Tuesday morning at 10:30 . Friends may visit on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm . Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3pm. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Pat's life will take place on Tuesday at 11 am at St. Denis Church , Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If so desired memorial remembrances can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
