DIFRANCESCO MARIA DOMENICA (GINA)November 16, 1912-July 6, 2004. We announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in her 92nd year. Born in Farindola, Pescara, Italy she immigrated to Canada with her 2 sons in 1948 to join her husband. For over 50 years, Gina was the dearly loved wife of Zopito (1984) . Loving mother of Danny (Maria) and Rocco (Frances). Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Michael (Anna), Rosemarie (Michael), Dino (Louisa), Robert (Colleen), Lynn, John (Janet), Liza (Peter), Tina, Judi (Ludgero) and Rocky Jr (Julieta). She was blessed with 18 great- grandchildren. Gina is survived by her two brothers and their wives, Giovanni (Emma) Coangeli and Italo (Jean) Colangeli and many nieces and nephews. Gina was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Club Roma and also volunteered for many years with the Feast of Mount Carmel Committee of St. Alfred's Church and a longtime member of the Catholic Women's League. We mourn a truly great lady whose greatest joy was cooking and baking for her family and many friends. In her final years, we were truly blessed that Mom was cared for with kindness and love at Extendicare Nursing Home and we thank Jane Freeman and the 2nd floor staff for their devotion to her. Gina is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:00am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 9:30am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 pm. Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
