Obituary of Michele Portanova

PORTANOVA, Michele "Mike" Peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, June 27, 2004, aged 59 years. Loving and devoted husband of Henrietta, cherished and loved father of Corina (Roberto) D'Intino. Dear step-father of Barbara Lynch - Johnt (Eric) and Robert Lynch. Special Nonno of Mya Faith D'Intino and Grandpa of Madeleine Lynch - Johnt. Loving son of Rocco and Incoronata Portanova. Beloved brother of Gerarda (Tony) Carbone. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and aquaintances. Predeceased by his brother Mario Portanova (1977). Mike's family will receive relatives and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church (Vine and Carlton Sts.) on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of committal, Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family.
