Obituary of Shirley Patricia McCarthy

McCarthy, Shirley (nee Mondoux) Peacefully joined our Lord in heaven with great courage on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in her 63rd year. Beloved wife of the late John Patrick McCarthy (1987). Dearly loved mother of Tom McPhee (Cathy) and Laurie Snure (Derrick); cherished grandmother of Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Tyler; sister-in-law to Gerald McCarthy (Patricia) all of St. Catharines. Neice to Ethel Cameron of Montreal. Predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Eileen Mondoux (Melville) and her first husband Kenneth McPhee. She will also be sadly missed my many cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley's beautiful smile and contagious laugh will forever be missed. The family is truly thankful to all her special friends and the wonderful staff at the Henley House where Shirley spent her last year in great comfort and joy. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their kindness and compassion, especially Dr. P. Hughes. Friends are invited to join Shirley's family at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., this Friday, February 11. 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where a Funeral Liturgy without Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
