Obituary of Carolina Borowyj

Carolina Borowyj At the Henley House St. Catharines on Thursday July 14, 2005 Carolina (Wyspianski) Borowyj in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Philip Borowyj (1982) and loving mother of Roman, Mrs. Henry (Olga) Czerwoniak, St. Catharines. Loving grandmother of Dennis Grant (Diana) of Victoria B.C., Phyllis Cotterill (Darrell) of Spruce Grove Alberta, Christine Ansel (Ferman) of Littleton Colorado, Alicia Gatt of Etobicoke and great grandmother of Kristen Grant, Dru and Rhyce Cotterill. She is also survived by several relatives in Ontario, Manitoba and the Ukraine. Sister of the late Michael, John, Frank, Miewchyk, Cecilia, Mary, Mychylina and Helen. Carolina was born in Kozika, Ukraine in 1912, she came to Canada in 1926. She eventually settled in Sudbury ON., then moved to Vineland, ON., in 1946 operating a fruit farm and stand before coming to St. Catharines in 1982. She was a very kind, generous, independant, hard working and friendly lady. She volunteered at St. John kitchen until 2004 and an active member of St. John Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church St. Catharines.Mrs. Borowyj is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday July 18, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Catharines. Panachyda at the funeral home Sunday at 8 p.m. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Iconostas Fund, St. John Church.
