Hi, it's the West Indian/Trinidadian girl, she ran away with, when we were 14 and living in Orton Park. What a terribly racist fella her father and most of the people in the building were, but hey, those were just the times. However, Nancy and her brother Mike didn't care and befriended my sister and myself, anyway.
I'ts unfortunate the landlord probably didn't like that the pretty and popular/cool Nancy chose to be friends with me and made up a poor excuse to evict us. It was quite a time for Indians in Toronto but Nancy didn't care and she and her family paid the price also, by being evicted for no good reason too.
So so terribly sad to hear she's gone and at such a tender age. The sadness and wound of missing Mike obviously took it's toll on her. They loved each other deeply and had a terrific relationship with so many jokes, mischeviousness and so much laughter, as all brothers and sisters should, but many don't. Coming from a difficult home life and not having any friends, I was fortunate enough to have experienced some great times with them both. I'm glad at least she had a little girl to name Tera, a name she loved and eagerly looked forward to naming her daughter. I'm sure Tera is every bit as beautiful as lovely and good hearted as Nancy. Tera, may you find a good man to love and take care of you as your Mother would have.
I forgive her father for his cruelty towards me, he's suffered enough, and again, those were just the times. There are never words that can comfort anyone in such a situation, though I wish I could offer him and Nancy's Mother some.
All I can say, is, Thanks Nance for the fun times and genuine friendship. What truly good hearted people I will always remember you and Mike as.
I feel so terribly sad my friend. Love Forever - Nadira.

I'm not sure if this is the same Nancy Flannigan but if it is I am shocked to hear that she passed away. Nancy was best friends with my sister Cheryl Parker who was murdered in Toronto in 2004...I haven't seen Nancy is years but the picture looks like her. I used to go out with Mike for a while when I was a teenager that is why I think it's the right Nancy as it says survived by her brother Mike. I am sorry to hear the news about Nancy she was always a good friend to Cheryl.
