Berge, Robert Walter
Peacefully with his family by his side at the St. Catharines General Hospital- NHS on Friday May 12, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer in his 84th year. Beloved husband of 58 years to Ruth (Poulson) and muched loved father of June (Barry) Vidican, Bob Berge and Linda (Bob) Jacobs. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Robert E. Berge, Krista (Rod) Maksinuk, Anika (Dan) Doddy, Bobby and Brittney Jacobs and great-grandchildren Makayla and Avarey Maksinuk. Brother of Art Berge and Marie McNulty. He was predeceased by brothers Harold and Norm Berge and sisters Pauleen Lowe and Louise Weller. He worked as a supervisor for General Motors Plant 2 for 43 years retiring in 1981. Robert served his country overseas under the 48th Highlanders in WWII. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 350 in Port Dalhousie. Robert's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street Sunday 7-9 pm. A celebration of Robert's life will be held in the chapel Monday May 15, 2006 at 11 am. Cremation to follow. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 350 will hold a service at the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:30. If desired memorial donation may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Catharines general Hospital Oncology Unit.
