Obituary of Kathleen Mary Long

Long, Kathleen Mary (Shannon)Died peacefully with her loving family by her side at the St. Catharines General Hospital- NHS on Monday May 8, 2006 in her 86th year. Born in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland and married in England in 1941, she moved to Canada in 1946 and worked for several years at the T Eaton Co. and other local retail stores until retiring in 1982. Kathleen was a long time member of the St. Denis Catholic Women's League, Hotel Dieu Auxiliary Volunteers and volunteer member of the Liberal Party of Canada. Beloved wife of the late Leonard C. Long (1983) and loving mother to Leona MacNinch (Wayne predeceased 2001) of Vineland, Bernadette Little (Derek) of Jordan, Brian Long (Thea) of Burlington and Pamela Greene (Vern) of St. Catharines. Dear grandmother to Donna Ormel (Henry), Terri Manning (John), Karen King (Chris), Kelly McMillan (Wayne),Tracy Albano (Dave), Michael Little (Dawn), Ryan Long, Gregory Long (Rebecca), Melissa Long (Jordi Grimwood), Erica Paugh (Tim), Robert Greene (Maria) and great grandmother to Greg, Mathew, Miranda Lynn, Jessica (Chris), Cara, Sarah, Andrew, Bradley, Shannon, Nolen, Colton, Sharon, Logan, Jordan, Amber, Alex, Cassandra, Miranda Mikayla, Briar, Johnathon, Christopher and great-great grandmother to Addison. Sister of Rose Hallet of Northern Ireland, Donval Shannon of Scotland and sister-in-law of Beaulah Whatling of St. Catharines. Family visitation only will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street St. Catharines on Tuesday May 9, 2006 from 5-9 pm. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday at 5 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday May 12, 2006 at 10:30 am from The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria 67 Church Street St. Catharines. Inurnment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
