Obituary of Thomas Leslie Turton

Turton, Thomas Leslie (1930-2006) Passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2006. Tom was the beloved husband of Mary (Dunbar) for 52 years. He will be missed by his daughter Kathryn McNeil (Tom) of Invermere B.C., his son David (Linda Glover) and his much loved grand daughters Ali, Lauren and Victoria Turton. Also survived by his brother Harry (Margaret) of Port Dalhousie and sister-in-law Maxine of Don Mills and their families. Tom was predeceased by his brother Ron. Tom was proud to be a lifelong resident of Port Dalhousie and a loyal active member of St. John's Anglican Church and as such received the Order of Niagara. Tom retired from Thompson Products (TRW) after 26 years in the Maintenance Dept. He had been very active in rowing since 1946, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and involved with the breakfast program. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11 am at St. John's Anglican Church in Port Dalhousie with a reception following in the church hall. In memory of Tom and his involvement with the church, memorial donations to the St. John's Anglican Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
