Obituary of Joan Mary McKey

MCKEY, Joan Mary (Milner) While surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 29th, 2006 at the Linhaven Home. Beloved wife of Gordon F. McKey and loving mother of George (Faye), Fran, the late Guy (Kathy), Mary, Paul (Joan) and Teresa (Jim) Wilson. Devoted grandmother of Tracey, Melissa, Michael , Patricia, Gordie Jo, Kimberley, Kathleen, Little Guy, Andrew, Jennifer, Maribeth, Shannon and Kate. Great grandmother of Kyle, Ethan and Jaden. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret, and her siblings Thomas, Emmett, Guy, Collin, Evan and Raymond. Joan attended Ottawa University and taught for many years in both the Elementary and Secondary level. She was also a member of the CWL, a member of the St. Catharines Duplicate Bridge Club and achieved the title of Life Master. In accordance to Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place. Joan's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, March 31st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Denis Catholic Church on Saturday, April 1st at 10 am. Vigil prayers for the deceased at the funeral home on Friday at 3pm. Inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Linhaven Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.
