Obituary of Eileen Courteau

Courteau, Eileen Theresa - It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Courteau announce her passing on March 22, 2006 at the St.Catharines General Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Marc for over 58 years. Amazing mother of Wayne (Linda), Cathy Storey, Cindi Ingham (Danny), Paul (Rhonda), Brian (Sandra Troche). Grandmother to Amber (Ken), Shawn, Derek, Marc, Luke, Cathy (Sean), Craig and Mandi. Great-grandmother to Candace, Alex, Brandon, Reitan, Makayla and Aaron. Also survived by her sisters Bea Cyr (Rudy), Fran Nesbitt (Ken), her sister-in-law Dorothy McIntyre (who was always there to play a game of cards) as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was an inspiration, who could balance being a supportive wife and proud mother, while working full time and still remembering to be young at heart. She taught us that we could achieve anything through hard work. She will be greatly missed. We want to thank Dr. Waler for his care and a special thank you to the staff on Community 4 East at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their kindness and understanding. Mrs. Courteau is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., until Saturday March 25, 2006 at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Star of the Sea at 11am. Cremation will follow the church service. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers for Mrs. Courteau will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3pm. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Diabetes Association of Ontario or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
