Obituary of Patricia Wells
WELLS, Patricia
Passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in her 85th year.
Predeceased by parents Queenie and George McCrea, brother Wilfred of Port Dalhousie, and uncle Wilfred (Peg-Leg), owner of Murphy's Marine Supply, with whom she worked as a young girl before marrying her husband Jim Wells and having 2 children. Daughter Donna Malloy (Cliff), son Lawrence "Bap" Wells (Sharon Attwood) and her special loving daughter in law Loretta Wells, who was always there for her. Grandmother of Tricia Foote (Scott), Greg Wells (Tiffany) and great-grandchildren of Amanda and Daniel Foote.
She loved and had so many great times with her friends, Ann Kozak, Mary Lou Howard, her travelling buddy of earlier years Mary Naughton, and her special friend and entertainer Wayne Keith, who always played her favourite song "Anytime". Also, her most loved of all family members, devoted cat 'Miss Kitty".
Pat was a member of Star of the Sea church and the Catholic Womans League for 60 years. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Port Dalhousie Legion and a proud member of Branch 350 Legion-Port Dalhousie. She worked for the Wallace Department store in 1958 until leaving for employment at the Unemployment Insurance Office in 1965 where she worked for 21 years until retirement.
She loved her family , her cat, and her friends and always stated she did not want anyone to be unhappy but have a party to celebrate her life with the words "I went to Pats' funeral and heard the preacher say-It's only the shell you are looking at the nut has passed away".
Patricia's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday, February 1st from 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2nd at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 34 Elgin Street at 2pm.Vigil Prayers will be held on Wednesday at 7:30pm . Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
