Obituary of George Alban LaJambe
LAJAMBE, George Alban (Al) - Passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at his home, on Tuesday January 24th, 2006 in his 87th year. Loving husband of the late Ruby for 62 years and father to Dennis of San Diego; Brenda and her husband Doug Walls of St. Catharines. He leaves behind grandchildren Garrett, Lauren, Evan (and their mother Beth), Danielle, Benjamin and Jordan, as well as great-grandchildren Angela, Jordan and Isaiah. Dear brother of Ken LaJambe and Frank (Meg) LaJambe both of Sault Ste. Marie. Predeceased by his son Brian (1996), brother Elmo and sister Geraldine. Al was born in Sault Ste Marie and grew up in Franz Ontario. His career took him from Heron Bay to Gore Bay to Thorold, working as accountant and cost systems manager for the Ontario Paper Co. for 42 years. He will be lovingly remembered for his enjoyment of family and friends, his integrity, his vise like hand shake and his affectionate use of the term "pot licker."
Alban is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines where his family will receive visitors on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 3pm. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Church, Vine Street, St. Catharines on Saturday January 28th at 11am. Cremation to follow. Memorial remembrances to Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
