Obituary of Reta Pearl Clark

CLARK, Reta Pearl (Nickerson) May 8th, 1917- January 21, 2006. Surrounded by her loving family at the St. Catharines General Hospital, Reta has gone to be with her Lord, her husband Stephen, her sons Bob and John, and her grandson David, who all predeceased her. She leaves behind with fond memories her son Dalton, daughter in law Jean, sister Ethel Jenkins, granddaughters Shennon (Bob) Morris, Angie (Rick) Johnston, Sandra Clark and grandsons Stephen (Tara), Andrew, Bob and Willie (Roxy). Also missed by 6 great grandchildren. Affectionately known as Auntie Reta to many nieces and nephews. Born in Midland, Reta moved to St. Catharines at the age of 3 and spent her whole life here, with the exception of summers in her beloved Honey Harbour. She had wonderful memories of growing up at Welland Avenue United Church where she met her husband Steve, sang in the choir, and worked tirelessly in Unit 6 Womens' Group. Reta also volunteered as a Teachers' Aid at the school for the mentally challenged and spent many years as a driver for cancer patients. The world may not notice her passing, but those that were priviledged to know her understand that it is poorer for her having left. Reta's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Tuesday, January 24th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will take place at Welland Avenue United Church on Wednesday, January 25th at 11am . Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Welland Avenue United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
