Obituary of Vytautas (Vytas) Skrebutenas

Skrebutenas, Vytautas (Vytas) - Peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital - NHS on Monday January 16, 2006 in his 79th year. Beloved husband to Isabel for 46 years. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Barbara Smith (Mark) and Patti Weir (Steven) of Guelph. Loving grandpa to Adam, Robert, Jason and Jonathan. Sadly missed uncle to Maryte Kudreikis and family. Vytas will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He retired from General Motors in 1989 after more than 35 years of service. Special thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU/PCU for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday January 18, 2006 between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 3pm on Wednesday. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated for Vytas on Thursday January 19, 2006 at 11am at St. Alfred's Church (272 Vine St.). Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of choice.
