Obituary of Thea Skoruppa
SKORUPPA, THEA - Peacefully on Sunday January 15th, 2006 at the Hotel Dieu - Shaver Rehab in her 90th year. Loving sister of Katharine Brygier, aunt and godmother of Brian Brygier (Miriam). Predeceased by her mother Mathilde and father Theo Skoruppa, brother Fritz, sisters Gerda Lubcke, Alice Skoruppa and brother-in-law Bernard Brygier. She is survived by her nieces Helga Fuchs (Chicago), Jutta Lubcke, Ilse Obpacher (Edgar), and friend Lilo Kornig all of Germany.
She was a nurse in Germany and retired from the General Hospital 25 years ago. A member of Club Heidelberg for 50 years and a member of Club Heidelberg Ladies Auxilliary. Thea was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The Family would like to thank Dr. Rosenberg, Dr. Romatowski, Flora Sahagian, Linda Mlot and the staff at Hotel Dieu - Shaver Rehab for their special care and compassion.
Miss Skoruppa will be resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel ,585 Carlton St. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17th, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held on Tuesday at 7:30pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations for Thea to the Diabetes Association or to the Hotel Dieu - Shaver Rehab Palliative Care Unit.
