Obituary of Estella Louisa Nye

Nye, Estella Louisa Peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Thursday, January 5, 2006 in her 86th year. Wife of the late Fred Nye, beloved mother of the late Eric Nye, Pam Soderberg, Linda Goodchild, loving Nana of Hillary (Rodger) Snow, Bree (Greg) Curry, David Stanbridge and Lisa, dear Granna of Emma, Hannah, Malcolm and Aidan, dear sister of Joyce (the late Harry) McCord, the late Doug (Pat) Dunk and many nieces and nephews in England, mother-in-law of John Soderberg, Bob (Nancy) Stanbridge and Tom Goodchild. Mom's heart embraced all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many family members, friends and her beloved Chipper. She loved us all. Mrs. Nye was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, was a lay reader with the church, she was an avid bowler at Fairview and Parkway Bowling Lanes for many years, she was a volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association. Mrs. Nye is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. where family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers to be held in the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Rite of Committal in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Memorial Remembrances can be made to a trust fund for her Great Grandchildren.
