Obituary of David Henry Butler

Butler, David Henry - Lost a courageous battle with pancreatitis and MRSA peacefully on Monday May 20, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband to Lynn (nee Philpott) of 50 years. Devoted dad to Stuart (Michelle Allan), Bradley (Amber Overholt), Donald (Pamela McCulloch), and David (Susan DuGuid). Grampy to Kylie, Robbie, Jake, Nate, Chloe, Sophie, and Elliot. Predeceased by his parents David and Virginia (nee Soper) and sister Jane. David was an active member in the community that included being an avid curler and golfer at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club; long time member and past president of Rotary; accomplished Wealth Manager at ScotiaMcLeod. David enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cottage in Thunder Beach. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday from 1-4pm and Monday between 2-4 & 7-9pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm at Mountainview United Church, 150 Glendale Ave. Private family burial to take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be to Rotary Club of St. Catharines - Rotary Tree Park in David's honour.
