Obituary of George David Cox
Cox- George DavidAt Upper Canada Lodge on Sunday July 31,2005. Loving husband of Lita Rendall and proud Pops of David Cox. George was a vocalist all his life beginning as a young boy in his church choir, to harmonizing with the boy's on street corners in Norfolk VA.. He was an original member of the Avalons (Your My Hearts Desire) that were recognized on the PBS special May 2003. He later went on to be front man and lead tenor in the famed group "New Century Platters" with some of his favourites being "Only You, Great Pretender and Red Sails in the Sunset". He formed his own group Cox, Wiggins & Moore so he could be closer to his family. He was predeceased by his parents Norlethia Cox and George Burnaby and brother Clarence Cox. He is survived by his extended family Georgette and George Cox. The family would like to thank Upper Canada Lodge, the staff loved him and management cared for us, Dr. Singh & the staff at Ambulatory Care you are truly amazing, The Alzheimer's Society, your love and never ending support carried us through, CCAC Niagara you are there for every one's needs. In respect of George's wishes cremation has taken place. A wake to celebrate George's life and his music will be held at the family home on Wednesday August 3, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m..
