Obituary of John Ronald Catena

CATENA, RONALD John ("THE CAT") It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of "The Cat" on August 25th, 2007 at the Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 60. Cherished father of Cassandra and loving friend and former husband of Cherie. Beloved son of the late Doris and John Catena and dear brother of the late Lorne Catena. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. Ron's many accomplishments included establishing one of the first Denture Clinics in St. Catharines and he then went on to his true passion - the Restaurant Industry by first purchasing and restoring The Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara On The Lake. He went on to pioneer the Roadhouse Concept by creating Cat's Caboose and his famous chicken wings. Ron continued on with creating Cat'nooga Choo Choo, Silks, and Cocomo Joe's, just to list a few. His creativity, talent, and larger than life personality will be greatly missed by the many people he touched throughout his life. A celebration of Ron's life will held in the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday, August 29th at 11:30am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial remembrances in Ron's memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
