Dear Connie, Bruce and family,
I'm not sure you will remember me Connie, we worked briefly together when you came up to do Gloria Bartley's job up in the engineering offices.
I can only say how sickened and saddened I was to hear of your son's passing in such a horrific manner. As we were watching the news that horrible night, my son Ryan was stunned to see Ross' picture on the screen. He knew your son from high school days. He was shocked, but at that time, I did not know he was your son. I only discovered that fact a couple of days ago. It isn't much I know, but I am so sorry for your loss. I have thought about it so much these past few days, and though we don't know each other well, I want you to know you have my sincere and heartfelt sorrow for this tragic loss. I hope and pray you and your family can find some comfort in the many wonderful memories he left behind.
Sincerely,
Annette Kent-Bergen

From playing soccer together at Club Heidelberg, attending Grantham High School, and enjoying his many trips up to London to visit, I will always remember Ross as a giving, loving and incredible human being. I am a better person for knowing Ross. He will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.
My deepest sympathies go to the Hammond's and Levitt's...

I had the pleasure to work with Ross and I must say, that not a day went by that he didn't have me laughing at one thing or another. If everyone had a sense of humour like him the world would be a much greater place. I was lucky enough to be able to attend Ross and Kara's Jack and Jill and I still talk about the "penalty box" to this day :) Ross you will be missed, make'em laugh friend make'em laugh!

He was taken so senselessly and I pray that somehow with each other's help you can find some comfort. Know that you will be in so many people's prayers.

Ross, You will be sorely missed. Save us all a spot in Heaven.
Love, The Crawford Family.
An Irish Funeral Prayer
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Kara...I cannot express to you how saddened I feel for your loss. I did not know Ross other than from online when the 2 of you were attempting to win a radio contest for SickKids. I was so impressed by the desire and energy Ross had to try and win this contest, as silly as this might sound in the grand scope of things. I could tell, right off the bat, what type of person he was. I have only recently glanced over his photos and see a beautiful strong man and it fills me with great sadness for you and your family. There are no right words to tell you. Time heals...but not soon enough. Ross will always live within you...I am so sorry.

Ross and Kara bought their first home in Toronto and I had the priviledge of helping them find their home. This was a lovely couple and I got to know them better as their search progressed and when they made their purchase. Ross was a lovely person as is Kara and they furnished and decorated their home with great taste. Later, before they moved to St Catherine, I again had the priviledge to help them sell this home in Toronto. Ross was a gentleman and easy to get along. Ross and Kara made a beautiful couple, were young, and had everything to look forward to, for a bright future. This is a very tragic end of an upcoming, bright, young man whose dreams went unfulfilled. My heart is deeply saddened at this senseless murder and goes to Kara for her loss and their families who have lost their young son.

Dearest Kara and family,
Words cannot express the deep sorrow that is in our hearts. His time here on earth may have been short, but if there ever was one person who lived life to the fullest – it was Ross. Not a day will go by without reflecting on one of the million wonderful things that made Ross the unique man that he was. He will be sadly missed.
Ross was truly one of a kind. He had such a zest for life, everything he did, he did with such conviction. He was such a people person; he could walk into a room and light it up. His winning smile and contagious laughter drew people to him and when he talked to you, it felt like that was the most important conversation in the world, even if it was about nothing. He was a master storyteller – he was always so captivating, animated and energetic.
Never at a loss for words, million dollar ideas or gut bursting humour; he was genuinely a sincere, kindhearted, giving man who valued all his friendships.
His memory will live on in each and every one of us – we are all very lucky to have known a blessing like Ross.
His eternal friendship will live on.
