CHAIKOWSKY, Anna (Hrychanuk)
Suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 7th at the age of 89.
Predeceased by her loving husband John (2000).
Much loved mother of Oksana (Michael) Mychaskiw of West Seneca, NY, and dear Baba of Larissa, Myrosia, Anna Maria and Lida. Great Baba to 3 precious puppies and 2 kitties. Also survived by her 2 nieces in Ukraine.
Anna was born in Ukraine on February 22, 1918 in the colourful Carpathian Mountains. She was active for over 50 years in the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, over 45 years in the U.C.W.L.C., a member of the Marion Rosary Society, a member of the Senior's Club (Myrhorod), over the years a volunteer at the Ukrainian Black Sea Hall and was recognized for her important contribution to the City of St. Catharines.
Mrs. Chaikowsky is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines until Monday, August 13th at 9 am. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 14 Rolls Avenue on Monday at 9:30am. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours for Anna on Saturday, August 11th from 7-9pm and Sunday, August 12th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorial donations to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund or the Faith and Light-Children With Disabilities would be appreciated by the family
