My respects to Clayton's children and grandchildren. Clayton was one of my very best friends back in the late 60s and early 70s: he was the first to buy me a beer in a bar, when he worked as night auditor at the Leonard Hotel (I think it was the Leonard -- memory gets a bit rusty after almost 40 years). He always could make me laugh with that wry and ironic sense of humour he had that everyone loved. He helped put Julio's and pizza itself on the fast-food map in those very early days of pizza: we threw away all the Chef Boy-R-Dees then. He will be missed.

For Clayton's kids and family,
We were so sorry to hear about Clayton's passing. We have so many fond memories of Clayton (babysitting) and especially for the care he gave our kids while we were at markets occasionally :) Clayton was a wonderful dad and person and the best pizza maker ever. We know that he is free from pain and suffering and that he is finally at rest. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this time. With lots of love, Doo Doo and family !!!!

Josh,
One of the hardest experiences any of us will ever face in life is losing someone we dearly love—and I know it's especially hard when death comes unexpectedly and we have no opportunity to say a final goodbye.
Perhaps the most important thing I can say to you is that God loves you and understands what you're going through. The Bible says, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail" (Lamentations 3:22).
You will always remember your Dad, and your grief over his death won't go away quickly. But in time, your pain will lessen—and God wants to help you in this process. What can you do? First, take time each day to thank God for the years you had together. Thankfulness is like a healing balm to our souls.
Then ask God to help you reach out to others in your family and friends who are grieving. They need your encouragement—and you need theirs. Most of all, don't carry your burden alone but hand it over to Christ. The Bible says, "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall" (Psalm 55:22).
We Love you, you and your family are in our prayers.
Bobby & Kerry Knowles
