Obituary of Robert McCready

McCREADY, Robert "Buff"- Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 29th at the age of 67. Best friend and husband for 45 years of Susan. Loving father and mentor to Pam (Wade) Hendsbee, Bobby, Mike, Pat (Julie) and Tracey. Much loved Papa to Joel, Kiersten, Dillon, Jake, Emily and Liam. Also survived by his mother in law Mona Ross. Buffer was a native son of St. Catharines, who retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was currently coaching the St. Catharines Junior "A" Athletics and the Buffalo Bandits. Buff was a longtime player and coach with Kiwanis hockey. He was well respected throughout the community, enjoyed bowling and was an Inductee to the Ontario and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Buff's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, July 4th from 7-9pm and Thursday, July 5th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Friday, July 6th in the funeral home chapel at 11am. Cremation to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara or the Old Boys Lacrosse Association would be appreciated by the family. Buffer will be sadly missed by everyone.
