Obituary of Luigi DiMatteo

Di Matteo, Luigi Peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS, on Friday June 8,2007 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Rosa (2000) and loving father of Rocco and his wife Angie Di Matteo, and Lisa and her husband Fortunato Di Santo. Dear Nonno of Louie, Michael, Krystina, and Rose Di Matteo, Melissa and Jonathan Di Santo. Brother of Domenic and Giuseppina Di Matteo and Gaetana Sicuranza and her late husband Domenic all of New York and brother-in-law of Carmine and Gaetana Di Pietro of St. Catharines. Luigi will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Di Matteo has been a member of St. Alfred's church for over 35 years. Special thanks to the St. Catharines General Hospital and nursing staff on floor 3E, Dr. Kanungo and liturgical staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital. Luigi's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church on Monday June 11, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Lung Association.
