Obituary of Sharon Anne O'Rourke
O'Rourke, Sharon- Died peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 with her family by her side. Sharon was the beloved wife of Donald and dear mother to David (Melodie) and Brian (Patty). Grandma Sharon will be deeply missed by grandchildren Emma, Reilly and Braeden. She is survived by her mother Patricia Holland, and is predeceased by her father Melville 'Spud' Holland. Sharon leaves behind her brothers and sisters; Mel (Pat) Holland, Linda (Willie) Jorgensen, Margaret (Mario) Sperduti, Doug (Sue) Holland and Theresa (Bob) Steel. Sharon was loved by many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. A long-time teacher, she recently retired from the Niagara Catholic District School Board. There are many friends that will miss her company, especially close friend Karen Dunn. Sharon loved reading, quilting and baking for the family. Special thanks from the family to the staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital for their care. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4 at George Darte Funeral Home; 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A memorial celebration will be held at George Darte Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5 at 11am. It would be appreciated if memorial donations were made to the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre or a local children's charity.
