Obituary of John Solomon

SOLOMON, John- Passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on February 28, 2011 at Muskoka Landing Nursing Home in Huntsville. Predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Florence (2005) and his son Lawrence Soloman (2004). John will be sadly missed by his daughter Marjorie. Cherished grandfather of Robert Valentine, Jonathan Pratt, Megan Soloman and Kevin Pratt. Also missed by his daughter-in-law Vicki Davis. John enjoyed playing and coaching hockey. A long time resident of St.Catharines, John drove a city bus for 15 years after a career at BF Goodrich on Geneva St. He was also a co-owner of a gas bar on Queenston St. with brother-in-law Bill Matychuk. John's Family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St., St.Catharines on Thursday, March 3rd from 7-9pm . A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11am. Burial to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens in Fonthill. If desired memorial donations to the Alzheimers Society will be appreciated by John's family.
