Peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at St. Catharines General Hospital in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Mary for 57 years, loving father of Lorraine, Richard, John , Caroline and Edward O'Connor, Christopher, Francine, Stanley and predeceased by Daniel, dear dziadziu of Adrian, Katrina, Jonah, Daniel and Megan, brother of Jenny and Chester Janik, Joseph and Josephine Baranek, Eliza and Joseph Klimeczko, predeceased by Emily and Raymond Nowaczyk. Mr. Baranek was a member of Star of the Sea Church, he was a tender fruit farmer throughout his working years and also worked at the Niagara District Catholic School Board for 15 years, he was in World War II with the American Navy stationed in the Pacific Fleet.
Mr. Baranek is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. until Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Star of the Sea Church at 9:30 a.m. with Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers for John will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario in John†™s memory.
