Obituary of Nicola Battaglini

BATTAGLINI, Nick Peacefully and after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 26th at the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Rehab at the age of 71. Much loved husband of Eva for 48 years. Cherished and devoted father of Jim (Krista), Philip (Debbie) and Grace Godard. Beloved grandpa of Zakary, Sebastien and Daniel. Also survived by his sister Maria, brother Guido and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandchild. Nick worked for Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital for over 37 years. He was an avid 10 pin bowler, lawn bowler and member of St. Vincent de Paul for the last 14 years. Nick's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, March 29th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Friday, March 30th at 11am. Rite of Committal Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers for Nick on Thursday at 3pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family.
